How We Are Organised
Oxford Aunts was established in 1967 and has been arranging help and care at home since then.
Our organisation is run by experienced nurses and managers. We are trained in our respective roles of assessing and matching care staff with client requirements.
We benefit from the experience of our long-serving senior managers who include:
- Jo McDougall the senior partner who founded the firm in 1967, and who continues to work as a care manager arranging services for clients;
- Lynda Gardner who is a registered nurse and the registered manager, and who joined the firm in 1995;
- Jackie Hammersley who is a registered nurse and the managing partner, and who joined the firm in 1981.
Care staff are personally vetted and assessed as to experience and skills by a trained interviewer, before being seen again by an experienced care manager. We take up at least three references and obtain an enhanced police clearance for everyone.
Induction training is undertaken by all care staff before being placed with clients. Our four days training sets out the high standards expected of care staff and includes safe and acceptable working practices.
Care staff are placed by experienced care managers. Their aim is always to match the essential personal qualities, as well as the competencies, of care staff with the requirements of our clients.
Ongoing training is made available to care staff to update and increase their skills.
For your peace of mind and protection we assume all employment responsibilities relating to pay, tax and national insurance.
We will ask you to tell us what you think about us and our performance.
