Services for Clients
Introduction
Thank you for considering Oxford Aunts. We hope that the following
information is helpful but please contact us if you require further details.
We provide live-in carers for people who need general care and support at home, and for people with more complex requirements.
Our live-in carers are carefully assessed as to their skills and aptitude and will provide the domestic help and personal care that you need in a sensible and competent way, plus be a reassuring presence in your home, either on a temporary or longer-term basis.
Temporary live-in help and care can be arranged at difficult or busy
times: after discharge from hospital, during periods of illness, or as relief
for a relative or another carer.
Longer-term live-in help and care can be arranged to enable you to remain and enjoy living in your own home. In order to provide continuity, we aim to place carers with you for three months at a time, rather than changing every two or three weeks. Sometimes carers will stay much longer but occasionally we only have staff free for shorter periods. Finding one person to live-in long-term is difficult but the carers we provide very often return again and again to the same client. Over the years, we have helped many clients to remain living in their own homes.
We offer a fully managed service. We provide an initial home assessment and care plan, regular review visits, regular telephone contact, plus the backup and support that you may need. In addition, carers are paid by us, supervised on a regular basis, undertake induction training and are offered ongoing training.
Live-in help and care is assessed individually and tailored to your requirements.
Generally, live-in carers will undertake shopping, cooking, laundry and other light domestic duties, as well as driving, accompanying you on outings and appointments, and such other social activities that you may require.
Personal care can be provided from minimal assistance such as running a bath, doing up buttons and zips, etc. to help with washing, bathing, dressing, moving about, and up to more complex assistance that might be required by someone who has developed a physical or mental impairment.
