Oxford Aunts is dedicated to providing help and care at home of the highest standard.
Jo McDougallOur name seems quaint for a care agency but it dates to when we first started and comes from the idea of calling in a favourite aunt when faced with a crisis or in need of an extra pair of hands. We were founded in 1967 by Jo McDougall, who operated from a single room in Oxford as a general domestic agency, providing those “aunts” for her clients. In present times we occupy a 16th century building in which Shakespeare is reputed to have stayed during his trips from Stratford-upon-Avon to the Globe Theatre in London.
Jackie HammersleyOxford Aunts Care started to develop from 1980 onwards when Jo McDougall and Jackie Hammersley responded to the demand for services for older people who needed assistance to remain living in their own homes. We are now a team of registered nurses and experienced managers specialising in providing high calibre live-in housekeeping and personal care staff.
